Best episode of series 2 so far.

OTOH, I totally changed my mind about Tooth and Claw and now think it's the worst episode so far this series, so I reserve the right to change my mind at any time.

But at the moment, GITF is teh sex. Absolutely.

YES, glad someone else disliked Tooth and Claw. And liked GITF. It seems to be a rare combination.

I liked GITF a lot,T&C seemed a bit average to me and more a RTD set things up for a later episode, episode.

I disagree on both counts. I think School Reunion is the best and New Earth the worst, but I can't exactly put a finger on what makes New Earth so bad in my opinion. *sigh*

Teh sex indeed... now *that* is something I can put a finger on. :)

New Earth sometimes feels like it's being written as a comedy and there's a lot of silliness, but I'd still take it over the plotlessness and wholesale pinching from movies and old-Who of Tooth and Claw. :)

I thought the werewolf was done quite well in Tooth and Claw, and I guess that might have helped my opinion. I didn't care for the beginning sequence of it -- what the heck was the point of that, IMO?

With New Earth, I felt like they just stuck Cassandra in there for no reason. I'm sure it wouldn't have been the same if it had been a totally new enemy, but I guess I just don't care for Cassandra.

I think the BIG thing that bugged me the most, regardless of the reason, is Rose and the Doctor's behavior in Tooth and Claw. The whole bet and baiting Queen Victoria to say "we are not amused" wasn't funny. It wasn't funny the first time, and really wasn't funny the third or fourth time. I liked the twist at the end, though. And there was plenty of "ruffly" goodness in Tooth and Claw. That saved it there too. :-D

I think New Earth was good, just not great. I think it just suffers by the company it's keeping. Sort of like Instant Mash is the worst track on Joe Jackson's first album, but that's only because the album is so good.

And, of course, anyone who doesn't think School Reunion is one of the BEST THINGS EVAR(TM) is, as they say, WRONG. (disclaimer: INSANE SARAH JANE FAN ALERT :-)
