Top of the Pops is yet again Cover Heaven. Come on... what's the point of all these new pop acts rerecording old songs. I guess this is going to be the music flavour of the '00s - pops acts rerecording old songs from the 70s and 80s.

Pish, kids these days.

But watching TOTP is odd. The majority of the groups haven't been exported to New Zealand, so TOTP is usually the first time I've heard of the acts in question. Meg says it's screened in the US as well, which is interesting because from what I've read, it's a near impossibility for UK acts to get established in the US. I'm not sure whether this is due to resistance on the part of consumers or the US recording industry.
