Brilliant but slightly odd but very nice

Don't get me wrong - Shockwave Flash is cool, and in the right hands can do some really neat things. But in researching sites for a page I was working on, I noticed that more and more sites seem to be completely in Flash.

No. Wrong. Sure it looks pretty, but it means if I can't read the text for some reason, I'm stuck. Can't make it bigger, can't highlight it to change the colour, and if I was blind and depended on a screen reader, I'd be stuffed.

Also it takes a long time to load because I'm on DIAL UP.

I have Macromedia Flash MX (part of Studio MX - a wonderful software suite) but have yet to actually do any Flash. I can't imagine doing an entire website in Flash. However, some Flash animation - I think I can do that.

Went to a one hour workshop at the SOITA Technology Conference and was shown how to make a Flash animation. It looked so easy, I figure I could do it. (Apart from playing with circles & rectangles, I haven't done much.) Will I eventually switch to Flash only? Hell no. (I like HTML way way too much to switch.)
