Dreamworks and Paramount co-producing a Transformers live action movie! That's splendid, that is.

Though it's not really their movie debut, since there was an animated one in 1986. :P

Heh. For the past month or so, I've been giving some (extremely) idle thought to putting together a Transformers screenplay, just for the hell of it. I guess the zeitgeist is pretty thick, what with the success of Dreamwave's comics and all.

Yeah, not to mention the recent resurgence of TF cartoons (Robots in Disguise, Armada and Energon) and the associated action figures. The franchise is doing pretty well again.

But seriously ... I can't remember the last time a show similar to Transformers translated well to the live-action medium. Perhaps Dreamworks can do it right, but ...
