Brilliant but slightly odd but very nice

Today I went to see Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy...

On the good side: the SFX were great, most of the cast were great, the plot was great (well, already knew most of it...)

On the bad side: I'd heard most of the jokes before, David Warner felt out-of-place as the voice of Marvin, and Ford was mostly eclipsed on screen by Zaphod.

And the Cult TV meme, pinched from various people on my flist:

Bold means I loved it/watched it religiously/etc.
Italic means I liked it but did not watch religiously.
Regular Roman letters means I didn't see it or was pretty much indifferent to it
Strikeout means I have seen it but disliked it.
* means I added this show to the list (if you gak this from me you have to add one of your own)

He would have indeed, as he would have been in Alan Rickman's skin at the time of doing so... ;-)

And I WANT THAT BREADKNIFE.

It was a great show. The DVD set should be arriving here any day now. :-) Never seen Donnie Darko, however, so no idea about ripoffs. (You want ripoffs? Have you see Tru Calling? Have you seen Run Lola Run? Nuff said...)

I haven't seen Run Lola Run... I take it it was a similar premise?

In Run Lola Run, Lola must find some moolah to save her boyfriend's life. During the course of the movie, they should 3 ways in which things happened/might have happened. Lola has no car and must run everywhere. She bumps into people and in each of the 3 scenarios, we see possible futures for them. It's a really cool movie, IMO, and the music is great.

I showed Lola to Elsa & Judi and then we watched Elsa's DVD of Tru Calling, the pilot ep. And it seemed like such a ripoff when we got done. (Tru Calling, that is, not Lola.)

I highly recommend Run Lola Run. Tru Calling? No so much.
