I was in Burger Fuel today and noticed that one of their current specials is the 'Tailgator', which purports to contain marinated crocodile. Yum!

Anyway, I have the Doctor Who: New Beginnings box set which came out here today, and which I am obviously compelled to begin watching immediately. This isn't really helpful as I'm currently in the middle of watching three other series: Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (season 2), Wild Wild West (season 2), and Vampire Princess. Meh.

We're working our way through it, and have just finished Logopolis.

I have to say, I thought it was a bit of an anticlimactic exit for poor Tom. He deserved better. :(

Really? Logopolis is one of my favourite Tom Baker stories. I think it has such a wonderful wait of doom about it. Though admittedly I haven't seen it in a while. :)

Gods, but Keeper of Traken was dull...

I thought it had some great ideas in it, but the execution left a lot to be desired. And the whole thing looks incredibly cheap and has that deeply ingrained naffness that I find in a lot of 80s Who.

But that's just my opinion, you may well love it! :)

Yeah, the production values can often be a letdown (and the reuse of incidental music from the Hitchhikers TV series is a bit cheap. :)

Yeah, it just seems to be a story that exemplifies that bright plastickiness that I always associate with John Nathan Turner's era.

I mean, the programme always looked cheap, that's part of it's charm. But you can get away with that as long as the lighting and direction are nicely atmospheric. As soon as it gets too bright, the tattiness becomes all-too apparent.
