second day of the con

Yesterday's con activities were good. The Big Finish panels especially were interesting. The Colin Baker/Peter Davison panel involved much telling of stories, and their habit of occasionally engaging in conversation with each other aside from the audience was most amusing... Peter related the incident of Janet Fielding and the boob tube, which I don't think I'd heard complete before.

While opening ceremonies was great, the masquerade following left a bit to be desired. Some of the contestants appear on the stage for only a few seconds before disappearing again. I'm told it wasn't run like a typical convention costume contest though.

Today was pretty good. Saw some panels, watched the Shada preview, which was intriguing. They solved the problem of the original Tom Baker version by stating that the Five Doctors, by taking TomDoc out of time, had erased the story. Right...

Meg and I met up with Meg's sister, Kathy and her husband, who took us to lunch at Macaroni Grill. The turned out to both be quite nice people.

Additional notes:
panels attended: Acting in SF, Colin Was Robbed, Back to the Telly, the Mythology of Stargate SG-1, BBCi preview - Shada
