Doctor Bashir, I Presume?: Bashir is approached to be the basis for a new medical hologram.

Rom's going to try to ask Leeta out, but chickens out at the last moment. Quark makes sexist remarks and then hands her a fork. Bashir and O'Brien play darts. and O'Brien suggests Bashir should have a go at becoming a dad. Doc Zimmerman appears in the bar with a proposal for Bashir - he wants to base the next HoloDoctor on Bashir. Zimmerman tells Sisko that he'll need to hang around on the station for the next three weeks.

Bashir and O'Brien are impressed by the amount of detail Zimmerman's questionnaire goes into. Zimmerman notices Leeta at the dabo table and obvious fancies her. Bashir asks Zimmerman not to interview his parents. Zimmerman creates the basic LMH (Longterm Medical Hologram) and loads on the EMH personality. Then interviews Bashir's friends and asks Leeta to dinner. Rom spots the pair having dinner and listens in as Zimmerman charms her. He interrupts them to ask Leeta if the next morning would be a good time to fix her replicator. Right.

Bashir's parents turn up, much to his dismay, and he introduces them to Sisko. Dad's an architect. Bashir goes to complain to Zimmerman, who excuses himself so he can go give Leeta some flowers. Zimmerman's organised a cafe she could run at Jupiter Station, but she's not sure about leaving DS9.

Bashir has dinner with his parents. Gee, he really doesn't get on well with his dad. Bashir is worried about Zimmerman finding out their secret.

Leeta tries to get advice from Rom, clearly fishing for him to admit his feelings for her and failing.

Bashir's dad apologises and says that they won't reveal to Zimmerman that Bashir was genetically engineered. Unfortunately the Bashir they just apologised to was the LMH, and Zimmerman and O'Brien both overheard the conversation. Bashir is furious that Zimmerman and O'Brien inadvertently tricked his parents, but as Bashir points out, this means he'll most likely be kicked out of Starfleet. When he was seven, his parents took him to another planet for a course of treatments which genetically modified him. Bashir decides to resign before Zimmerman can file a report.

Rom mopes in the bar. Quark reminds him what happened with Nog's mother and tries to interest him in a Vulcan love slave holosuite program.

Bashir's dad decides to fight the problem legally. An argument breaks out until his mother speaks up about their reasons for genetically modifying him. After hugs, Bashir tells them he's going to tender his resignation in the morning.

So, the next morning, he goes to Sisko to resign and finds his parents and an Admiral are already meeting with Sisko. Dad's going to prison for two years in return for Bashir being allowed to retain his commission. Though Bashir protests, the admiral gives a speech about the eugenics wars. Bashir farewells his parents as they leave for Earth. Rom finally gets up the courage to ask Leeta not to leave. Zimmerman's disappointed, but starts chasing after another woman.

Was this before or after the Voyager episode with Zimmerman in it? Totally different personality.

Bashir and O'Brien play darts, and O'Brien wonders if Bashir has been letting him win. Bashir promptly hits three bullseyes in a row. O'Brien says from now on, Bashir stands further away from the target. Hehehehehe!

I think it was after the one with the Doctor believing he was Zimmerman, and the one with the EMH diagnostic program patterned after Zimmerman, but well before the one with the actual Zimmerman
