And I know this may be a silly question, but why isn't air conditioning mandatory in the offices with computers? Don't they start to act peculiar in hot weather? But I am in Texas where 100F is typical in our summers so everywhere is air conditioned.

I've found out through bitter experience that computers act peculiarly in any weather. Of course, in the case of my work computer, it doesn't help that (1) it's a five (or maybe six now, I've been saying "five" for a while) year old computer and takes about half an hour to start up in the mornings - and I'm actually in the IT department!; and that (2) while my office does have rather perfunctory air conditioning, what it doesn't have is any degree of weathertightness (so much so that it's currently empty while the flood-damaged carpet is being replaced...)

I have that icon sitting in my tray, i'm ignoring it.
