For some reason IE on my work computer seems to have decided to store its cache, history, and cookies all in the temp directory. This means when Windows gets bored and clears out the temp directory, it wipes out all the IE data.

Now that's dumb. Now I just have to find where it keeps that setting and fix it.

Eh? Anyway, I took a look through the registry and nothing seemed amiss, so I don't know what's wrong with the thing.

Well, see Admins can set up a users profile as they see fit in general... could the Admin have set it so it just put all the things in Temp?

oh, everyone here administers their own PC, more or less. Am I haven't touched the setting, so I don't know why all those temporary files were in there...

I think you can change this under the settings for "temporary intenet files" in the IE options.

I just looked and... it's set to the right directory!

Mind you, this is the same computer which insists on ignoring my colour preferences when it boots up.
